MagRod, LLC is a limited liability corporation that specializes in spinal surgical intellectual property in a strictly pre-commercial capacity. MagRod currently is in possession of several landmark patent applications that utilize magnetic technology to assist in inserting and assembling minimally invasive implants. The MagRod technology is a targeting system for rigid and flexible percutaneous rods. It will allow a surgeon to build percutaneous pedicle screw constructs that are heretofore impossible. With MagRod technology surgeons will be able to build unlimited-level constructs and insert rods sub-fascially without the use of fluoroscopy. This will allow a surgeon to approach deformity, trauma and technically difficult pathologies through MIS methods with greatly reduced radiation exposure. During cadaveric labs, MagRod technology has linked a 14 level construct, including an iliac screw without the use of fluoroscopy. MagRod technology also provides the ability to pass flexible, dynamic rods percutaneously, which has heretofore been impossible. Additionally, MagRod technology will make traditional MIS constructs(4 levels and below) routine business.
